Ushering in the Year of the Snake with yet another independent project by VORT3X entitled ‘Snake & Ladders’! Each set comes with a series of 8 festive packets that can be arranged into an actual Snake & Ladders board game, and the outer packaging includes die-cut tokens and a formable dice to start a game with friends & family! The idea behind this concept is to have people put down their mobile devices and interact with each other during family reunions and gatherings among friends / relatives.

Snake & Ladders originated from ancient India, and the game teaches the concept of Karma – Vices will be followed by bad fortune, and good deeds will be rewarded. Modern iterations of Snakes & Ladders have illustrations that depict this concept.

When put together, the words 善可积福, 德能聚财 (Good Deeds May Bring Blessings, Virtue May Bring Wealth) can be seen. It’s a Chinese saying that has all 8 Chinese characters having positive meaning independently (and hence relevant when placed on individual festive packets) while still explaining the concept of morality and Karma behind the original Snakes & Ladders.

All 9 snakes illustrated are based on actual snakes: Coral snake, blue-lipped sea krait, rainbow snake, Burmese python, rattlesnake, blue viper, King Cobra, green mamba and corn snake.
